The 2024-25 season has been a mixed bag for the Old Tiffinians FC, but there are two things that have been consistent - the poor weather and the outstanding efforts by the Grists Ground Staff. The latter leading to Grists being the proud hosts of two LOB Cup Finals and one AFA Junior Cup Final this season - testament to the hard work of all involved.
With a number of matches still to be played, our men's teams each have their own battles in various positions up and down the league. Our Vets team are pushing for promotion, and our 1 XI made it to the semi-finals of the AFA Junior Cup before narrowly missing out on the final (to be hosted at Grists!) due to a well-organised Old Vaughnians team.
Our women's teams have both had a transitional season as they look to build on the success of recent campaigns. The 1 XI have been playing at a number of exciting stadiums around the south-east of England and the Flexi Team have been adding to their experience in the Surrey FA Flexible League.
The inaugural Grists Fundraising Dinner was a hugely successful event and made fantastic use of the newly refurbished kitchen in The Dean Pavilion. It was great to see so many supporters for the cause and many an anecdote of fond memories of Grists were shared across the tables. Many thanks to all our volunteers across the Tiffinian community who helped make the event happen.
If you would like to donate to the cause and help support the provision of excellent facilities at Grists, please do so here.
We will be organising plenty of other fundraising events for alumni as the Grists Masterplan project progresses, so please do reach out to Greg Nutt (GNuttTTSF@tiffin.kingston.sch.uk) if you would like to help contribute to improving the facilities at Grists - whether financially, or through advice or volunteering to run the events - we would love to hear from you!
As always, we are looking for new (and old!) players for both the male and female teams to help strengthen our growing club. We cater for all abilities - from the age of 16 to 116. Please do reach out to us at oldtiffiniansfc@hotmail.co.uk if you would like to join the club or help support us in any way. Alternatively, take a look at our website or social media channels for further information.
